Queens Technical High School is a public career and technical education secondary school located in Long Island City, NY. The school has an enrollment of 1,400 students and serves grades 9-12. [ 4 ] A new wing, completed in 2005, added a cafeteria, library, gymnasium, and additional classrooms. [ 5 ]

Formerly known as the Manhattan School of Aviation Trades (SAT), Aviation High School has operated since 1936. It is in the Long Island City neighborhood of the New York City borough of Queens. The school accepts students from all five boroughs according to the NYC screened school process.
Engine Company 261 was established as Long Island City Fire Department's Engine Company 3 in 1894. It was renumbered after Long Island City was annexed by New York City in 1913. [4] In 2003, Engine Company 261 was closed as a cost-saving measure. [5] The closure was one of six announced by Michael Bloomberg, on May 26, 2003. [6]
