The Jolly Mountain fire was a wildfire in Wenatchee National Forest, Kittitas County, Washington, that began with lightning strikes August 11, 2017 and burned for over three months. [ 2 ] [ 1 ] Fires burned in the upper reaches of the Teanaway River a few miles east of Cle Elum Lake .
The fire grew to become contiguous with the Peavine Canyon Fire to the north. Yakima Complex [7] – 2,300 acres (3.6 sq mi; 9.3 km 2). Approximately 75 small fires in Kittitas and Yakima counties. The Wild Rose Fire was the largest and is located north of U.S. Route 12 and east of Rimrock Lake.
The Valley Fire was estimated at 25 acres at 4 a.m. shortly after it started, according to the Bureau of Land Management. By about 7:30 a.m., the fire had grown to over 2,000 acres.

Kittitas is located in eastern Kittitas County. Interstate 90 passes through the south end of the city, with access from Exit 115. I-90 leads west 115 miles (185 km) to Seattle and east 166 miles (267 km) to Spokane. Ellensburg, the Kittitas county seat, is 7 miles (11 km) to the west.
