The Loew's State Theatre was a movie theater at 1540 Broadway on Times Square in New York City.Designed by Thomas Lamb in the Adam style, [1] it opened on August 29, 1921, as part of a 16-story office building for the Loew's Theatres company, with a seating capacity of 3,200 [2] and featuring both vaudeville and films.
The State Theatre was designed by Charles Peter Weeks and William Day, of architectural firm Weeks & Day, [4] [5] in a Spanish Renaissance style. The theatre is incorporated into a 12-story Beaux Arts style [5] 1921 office block called the United Building, situated at the intersection of S. Broadway and 7th St.

The venue re-opened in October 1978 [7] From 1978 under the name Ocean State Theatre, a name it held until 1982.
