Gásadalur (Danish: Gåsedal) is a village located on the west side of Vágar, Faroe Islands, and enjoys a panoramic view over to the island of Mykines. The Gásadalstunnilin single-lane tunnel, Oct 2005. Gásadalur is located on the edge of Mykinesfjørður, surrounded by the highest mountains on Vágar.
It is linked to the village of Gásadalur by the Gásadalstunnilin tunnel. Bøur is a small village on the west-side of Vágar on the north side of Sørvágsfjørður , Faroe Islands . It has views over the sea and the rocky islet Tindhólmur with its many peaks, Gáshólmur and the two "drangar", (tall, pointed clifftops sticking up from the sea).
The Gásadalur Tunnel, Gásadalstunnilin, is a 1.4 kilometre long, [1] single-lane tunnel in the west of the Faroe Islands, on the island of Vágar.It connects the villages of Bøur in the east with Gásadalur in the west, which are separated by the Knúkarnir mountain.

It consists of the villages of Sørvágur, Bøur, Gásadalur and Mykines. Originally the municipality only included the village of Sørvágur, but in January 2005 the municipality of Sørvágur agreed to merge with the smaller municipalities of Bøur/Gásadal and Mykines. The new municipality had a population of 1,232 in 2024. [2]
Víkar was founded in 1833 and belonged to the village of Gásadalur farther south. Even today a path still connects the two communities with each other. Even though the landscape was very favourable, Víkar had already been abandoned by 1910, because it was too difficult to reach.
