The Angel is defeated by Shinji Ikari's Eva-01, which is activated by a new piloting system named the Dummy System, [351] which destroys the infected Evangelion. [352] [353] The fictional Angel's contamination of Unit 03 during its passage through a blanket of storm clouds is an allusion to its namesake Bardiel, the angel of hail and lightning.
Shamsiel is said to lead 365 legions of lesser angels in the Zohar and it is said that he was assigned by God to guard the Garden of Eden after Adam and Eve were expelled; comparable to cherubim. There is apparently some disagreement in sources as to whether Shamsiel is a fallen angel; he is still regarded as the ruler of the 4th Heaven. [3]
Eve or Eva comes from Adam's rib; similarly, the Evangelions come from the Angel first identified as Adam. [21] The goal of the Angels is to return to Adam and create the Third Impact, which would destroy humanity. Kaworu Nagisa recognizes humanity as beings of Lilith and identifies them as Lilim. [22]
Godzilla's body then unleashes his atomic breath; but instead of firing at the Eva Units, he instead fires it to the sky, where it hits an unseen force and combusts into flame. The explosion suddenly condenses into a new shape, King Ghidorah, the source of the cosmic waves. As it descends on the city and confronts Godzilla, Godzilla fires his ...

As Eva-01 relaxes on the riverbank, Zeruel catches a large, glowing blue ball that promptly absorbs the Angel into itself. Eva-01 pursues the ball as it flies to the school, where it absorbs several students.
A second attack by the Eva is blocked by a barrier named A.T. Field, but the Eva erodes it with another A.T. Field. Once the barrier is down, Eva-01 soundly defeats Sachiel by shattering the downed Angel's core. Sachiel wraps itself around the Eva and self destructs; Eva-01 emerges from the explosion with little apparent damage.
According to the academic Mariana Ortega, since Eva-01 was built from Lilith and the Angel was born from Adam, Unit 01 absorbs a "sibling" and becomes an "alpha et omega". [171] The Japanese academic Kotani Mari likened the act of cannibalism on Shinji-Eva's part to "the explosion of the radically feminine, that is, to what Alice Jardine calls ...
Adam and Eve are shown in the nude. Although this increases the drama of the scene, it differs from Genesis 3:21 which states, "Unto Adam also and to his wife did the L ORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them." Only one Cherub angel is present.
