Home Alone 3 is not a children's comedy film (seeing as it is PG-rated like the other HA films, among other things), it is not set in California (it is set in Illinois), and it is not a spy film of any sort, as there are no spies whatsoever. The criminals in this film, like the criminals in all other Home Alone films, are not spies. Just thieves.
