The Lincoln MKZ, is a four-door, five-passenger mid-size luxury sedan manufactured by Ford and marketed as the Zephyr (MY 2006) and as the MKZ (MY 2007–2020) by Ford's Lincoln brand across two generations in both gasoline and hybrid gas/electric models.
For model year 2009 and 2010 respectively, Ford also marketed a Lincoln D3 variant, the MKS and the D3-based sixth-generation Ford Taurus. After discontinuation of the Mercury brand, the Mercury Sable ended production after the 2009 model year. For 2017, Lincoln replaced the MKS with the revived Lincoln Continental, based on the CD4 architecture.
The sixth-generation Taurus' production started on June 15, 2009, for model year 2010. [13] Unlike previous Taurus generations, the sixth-generation Taurus nolonger had a Sable counterpart, as Ford would sunset the Mercury brand by the end of 2010. Lincoln in turn, began marketing a Taurus derivative, the MY 20099 Lincoln MKS.
