Mayfield City School District is a public school district in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The district serves four communities in the Greater Cleveland area, which previously comprised Mayfield Township : Gates Mills , Highland Heights , Mayfield Heights , and Mayfield Village .
Mayfield School, previously St Leonards-Mayfield School, is an independent Catholic boarding and day school for girls aged 11 to 18. It is in the village of Mayfield in East Sussex. The school was founded by Mother Cornelia Connelly , S.H.C.J., in 1872, with the oldest buildings dating from the 14th century.
A new Mayfield High school was in the process of constructing around the early 1960s. The Mayfield High School was opened to the students in 1963. Mayfield Central High School become Mayfield Middle School from 1963- 1984. Mayfield High School originally housed 9th-12th until in 1984. Mayfield Middle School housed only 7th grade for one year.
Mayfield Senior School is an independent Catholic college preparatory school, founded in 1931 for young women grades 9-12. It is sponsored by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, a member of the Holy Child Network of Schools and is guided by the educational philosophy of the Society's foundress, Cornelia Connelly.
This new school was ready for the 2021 September start of term and staff and students moved in and vacated the old building. [ citation needed ] Despite local opposition to demolition, the old building was demolished in early 2022, except for the front portico with its decorative frieze and Portsmouth crest mosaic.
