The Berwickshire Coastal Path is a walking route some 48 kilometres (30 mi) long. It follows the eastern coastline of Scotland from Cockburnspath in the Scottish Borders to Berwick upon Tweed, just over the border in England. In 2017 the route was designated as one of Scotland's Great Trails by NatureScot. [8] The Independent declared the original John Muir Way its Walk of the Month for February 2014. [9] Between 240,000 and 300,000 people use the path every year, of whom about 5,500 walk the entire route. [10]
