The 730th Air Mobility Training Squadron is an Air Force reserve unit stationed at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, where it trains airmen on Boeing C-17 Globemaster III, Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker and Boeing KC-46 Pegasus aircraft systems.

Cornelius Walter "Connie" Cousland [1] served as the first commander of the 97th Bombardment Group once activated on 3 February 1942 at MacDill Field in Tampa, Florida through 29 July 1942 at Polebrook Field in England; and was replaced by Col. On July 1, 1961, the 577th Strategic Missile Squadron was activated at Altus Air Force Base and established twelve missile silo sites in a 40-mile radius around Altus, each with one Atlas-F nuclear missile. Of the twelve sites, all but one were located in Oklahoma.
Initially retired to Davis-Monthan AFB in February 1966, was used as a maintenance trainer at Lowry Technical Training Center until April 1982. Put on static display in 1984 and now part of the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum, Denver, Colorado.
