Allama Iqbal Open University is a public university in Islamabad, Pakistan.It is named after Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the country's national poet.It is the world's fifth largest institution of higher learning in terms of enrolment, with an annual enrollment of 1,121,038 students (as of 2010), the majority are women and course enrollment of 3,305,948 (2011). In April 2007, it reopened under the name Islamic Online University with a greater offering of completely free short courses. [3] On January 13, 2020, it was announced that the institution's name has been changed to the International Open University. [4] [5]
