The term fishing broadly includes catching aquatic animals other than fish, such as crustaceans (shrimp / lobsters / crabs), shellfish, cephalopods (octopus / squid) and echinoderms (starfish / sea urchins). The term is not normally applied to harvesting fish raised in controlled cultivations (fish farming).
