In Nigeria, primary healthcare is to be provided by Local Governments, secondary health care by State Governments and tertiary health care by the Federal Government. [1] In operationalizing this policy, the Federal Government decided to establish at least one tertiary health institution in each State of the Nigerian Federation. [2]
The Federal Medical Centre, Bida (FMCBida) is a federal medical center own by the federal government of Nigeria and built by the Sani Abacha military administration, it was built in 1997 and its also has a medical institution resided beside it in Bida, Niger state.
The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Abeokuta came into existence on 21 April 1983, when the state hospital, Idi-Aba, was handed over to the federal government by the then state Governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba for development into a federal tertiary health institution for the people of Ogun State and Nigerians in general.

Federal Medical Centre Owo is a public health care centre located in Owo, a city in Ondo State, southwestern Nigeria. [1] [2] The hospital, which had a land area of 58.5 hectares, was subsequently converted to a 300-bed federal tertiary healthcare facility and given the new name Federal Medical Centre, Owo.
