TV6 is a Swedish television channel broadcasting owned by Viaplay Group. It has origins in the youth channel ZTV that started broadcasting in the early 1990s. In 2004, MTG started repositioning the channel by introducing sports broadcasts and other programming that mainly targeted men.
Many such channels don't broadcast from Sweden, but nevertheless target a Swedish audience. TV4 is the only commercial channel ever to have broadcast nationally in the Swedish analogue terrestrial network, but the arrival of digital terrestrial television saw the TV4 monopoly on commercial television broken.

The channel has its origins in TV6, a Swedish women's channel started in 1994. In 1998, the channel was changed into a pan-Nordic pay channel showing nature documentaries from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. ("TV6 Nature World") and then action movies and series from 9 p.m. to midnight ("TV6 Action World").
