The Myles Building is a historic building located at 911-919 East New Haven Avenue, Melbourne, Florida. This two story building was constructed in 1913 and included a restaurant and billiard parlor on the first floor and the Midway Hotel on the second. [1] Soon after completion, the Melbourne Times newspaper relocated to the Myles Building.
On December 9, 2004, yet another death occurred at the San Carlos, when an unidentified man jumped from the hotel's roof. The Hotel San Carlos in Phoenix, a member of Historic Hotels of America, a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, underwent a $1-million remodel in 2003 and work continues on the historic boutique hotel.
Melbourne Village is a town in Brevard County, Florida. It is part of the Palm Bay–Melbourne–Titusville, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area, and is the smallest incorporated municipality (by population) in Brevard County. [8] The population was 681 at the 2020 US Census, up from 662 at the 2010 census.
Melbourne Beach is Brevard County's oldest beach community. In 1879, a hotel, the Oak Lodge, was built for researchers and naturalists on a 164-acre (66 ha) location near Aquarina. [4] In 1921, the Melbourne Causeway was built, connecting Melbourne Beach to the mainland via the town of Indialantic. In 1923, it was incorporated as a town.
