Since its arrival on 21 April 1980, the first wave of the Indonesian Air Force's F-5 E/F Tiger II fighter fleet arrived at Iswahjudi Air Force Base, totaling eight units transported using the USAF Airlift Command's C-5 Galaxy. Two months later, on 5 July 1980 the C-5 Galaxy landed again carrying an F-5 E/F Tiger II to supplement its deficiencies.
