In Arizona, the Chino Valley Unified School District #51 is a school district in Yavapai County, Arizona. It includes most the town of Chino Valley, along with a majority of the Paulden census-designated place, a small section of Prescott, and a part of the Williamson CDP. [2] It also includes unincorporated area of Drake. [3]
In 2016, the districts began grade-sharing, and the two together operate under the name "MMCRU Schools". [7] The "royals" were the chosen mascot. [8] As part of the arrangement, both districts have their own elementary schools, with RU having a combined middle school and MMC with the combined high school.
The district formed on July 1, 1993, as a result of the merger of the Marcus and Meriden-Cleghorn school districts. [4] The district inherited the Cleghorn School, which first opened in 1920. By 2015 the school had 90 students in grades 4–6. In 2015 the district voted to close the school in order to have a yearly savings of $130,000.

[4] The vote to merge the districts, held on September 14, 2010, [5] was successful, with North Central voters doing so on a 431–63 (85.35%) basis and Nora Springs–Rock Falls voters doing so on a 437–262 (59.95%) basis.
