The original building (then called Downers Grove High School) was finished in 1928, with additions made in 1935, 1952, 1976, 1999–2000, 2011-2013, and 2019-2021. In 1964, the school's student body was split in half, one portion attending North, the other attending the newly built Downers Grove South.
During high school, Edwards played quarterback for the Downers Grove North High School Trojans. While in high school, he weighed 215 pounds, didn't lift weights, and didn't eat breakfast. [1] Edwards was also a standout basketball player for the Trojans, starting at center for three years on the varsity level.

LeFevour broke the all-time touchdown record for Benet with 54 scores in his career. He was named to the ESCC All-Conference team his senior year, and was also recognized as honorable mention all-state. [3] On February 4, 2011, LeFevour had his number 11 jersey retired at Benet, becoming the first football player to have that honor. [4]
