Duckstation is the best PS1 emulator you can use. Duckstation, with the right settings is extremely close to playing on a PS1. Duckstation or beetle psx hw on retroarch and mendafen. Since you know of different emulators, check to see if their compatibility lists mention any issues with the games you want to play.

1) ePSXe101.zip is the official ePSXe pack, it includes the emulator (ePSXe.exe) and the folders that the emulator need. 2) You must to have a PSX bios, which you may only be in possession if you're legally entitled to.
Very easy to use and decent emulator so far. There´s 2 PS1 emulators worth mentioning, ePSXe and FPse. ePSXe runs smoother, has more settings (or at least they´re organized better) and is more accurate in my experience, but FPse has the better button layout imo. Both have a main menu that shows you the covers and names.
If it's the latest version of ePSXe, using only the stock plugins that come with it, and with a config that makes them worth comparing (improved GTE accuracy vs PGXP, for example), yeah, DuckStation is definitely the better performer by an obscene margin.
