Led by third-year head coach Francis Schmidt , the Buckeyes compiled an overall record of 5–3 with a mark of 4–1 in conference play, tying for second place in the Big Ten.

In Paul Bixler 's only season as head coach, the Buckeyes compiled a 4–3–2 record (2–3–1 against conference opponents) and were outscored by a total of 170 to 166.
