Dynamic DNS (DDNS) is a method of automatically updating a name server in the Domain Name System (DNS), often in real time, with the active DDNS configuration of its configured hostnames, addresses or other information. The term is used to describe two different concepts.
Port triggering is a configuration option on a NAT-enabled router that controls communication between internal and external host machines in an IP network. For instance a router may have a static or connected route for a local network segment, which is then redistributed over dynamic routing protocols to enable connectivity to that network.
