Hereford is a populated place in Cochise County along the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area in the southern part of the U.S. state of Arizona. It is southeast of Sierra Vista and is a part of the Sierra Vista-Douglas micropolitan area .
Looking eastward toward the Mule and San Jose Mtns from one of the stations at this Marian Shrine on the side of the Huachuca Mtns in SE Arizona. The wide angle of the camera seems to flatten tall structures like mountains, and here, they are washed out in t he bright sky.
The Lehner Mammoth-Kill Site is in southern Arizona (Cochise County) on the west bank of the San Pedro River 1.5 miles southwest of the town of Hereford. It is significant for its association with evidence that mammoths were killed here by Paleo-Indians 11,000 to 12,000 years before present.

The Hereford Bridge spans the San Pedro River near Hereford, Arizona, and was built in three stages. The first one was built in 1912–1913, consisting of a single span truss , with steel cylinder piers as supports.
Hereford Arizona Observatory (HAO), IAU-code G95, is an astronomical observatory, [1] [2] owned and operated by amateur astronomer Bruce L. Gary. [3] Observational studies of unusual starlight fluctuations in Tabby's Star (KIC 8462852) [ 4 ] and WD 1145+017 [ 5 ] are recent interests.
The other two runways were not depicted at all. However, this rejuvenation of the field was evidently short-lived, as Hereford was not listed in the 1987 Flight Guide. It appears that one of the runways at Hereford was used by small private aircraft until about 1990. However, as of the late 1990s, the entire Hereford site was privately owned.
