Kline was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania and grew up in the Webster neighborhood of Rostraver Township, Pennsylvania. [4] He attended Rostraver High School, where he was the starting quarterback and graduated in 1947. [4] He attended Duquesne University, but was unable to afford completing his degree. [4]
Rostraver Township has eight land borders, including Elizabeth Township in Allegheny County to the north, West Newton to the northwest, Perry and Washington Townships in Fayette County to the south, North Belle Vernon and Belle Vernon (the latter in Fayette County) to the southwest, Monessen to the west-southwest, and Forward Township in Allegheny County to the northwest.

The Darr Mine disaster at Van Meter, Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, near Smithton, killed 239 men and boys on December 19, 1907. [1] It ranks as the worst coal mining disaster in Pennsylvanian history. [ 2 ]
Archives Remains Closed - UPDATE The Pennsylvania State Archives has completed the move to its new facility at 1681 North Sixth Street, Harrisburg, PA, but certain systems that will be used by the public continue to be installed and tested. We expect these to be completed, and for the Archives to reopen to the public during December.
