Marvel Cave is a privately owned cave located just west of Branson, Missouri, in Stone County. It is one of the main attractions of Silver Dollar City and is registered as a National Natural landmark. [1] The first recorded expedition of the cave was in 1869, led by Henry T. Blow.
Silver Dollar City is located at the site of one of the Ozarks' oldest attractions, Marvel Cave. Henry T. Blow, a lead mining magnate, explored the cave in 1869 with six miners. They found no lead, but were convinced that the flat ceiling of one room was composed of marble, and so they originally named the cave Marble Cave. [2]
