Spoiler tags are favoured by a majority of Wikipedians (probably 70%), hence the extraordinary measures taken to remove them. These measures are still continuing, with the spoiler police and anti-spoiler bots. Were there consensus, these arrangements would not be necessary, just as there is no anti-trivia section patrol.
