Cosmic Slop is a 1994 American anthology television film created by Reginald Hudlin, who executive produced with his brother Warrington Hudlin. [1] The film is hosted by musician and Parliament-Funkadelic frontman George Clinton, and derives its title from the 1973 album and song of the same name by Clinton and Funkadelic.
The story was adapted for television in 1994 by director Reginald Hudlin and writer Trey Ellis as part of the HBO made-for-TV anthology film Cosmic Slop. Robert Guillaume starred as Golightly and Ronald Reagan impersonator Jay Koch played the space trader spokesman, described in the story as sounding like Reagan.
The show, which ran on NBC, was known for being one of the shows during the 1980s that featured an almost entirely black cast. Next came spots on Townsend Television (1993), Cosmic Slop (1994), and Murder Was the Case (1994) as a drunk. He later appeared in the 1997 Living Single episode "Three Men and a Buckeye" as Smoke Eye Howard.
Alongside Warrington, he executive produced the 1994 anthology television film Cosmic Slop, and directed the first of the film's three segments, "Space Traders". Hudlin worked as a producer on the 2012 film Django Unchained , directed by Quentin Tarantino , which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture .

Cosmic Slop is the fifth studio album by Funkadelic, released in July 1973 on Westbound Records.While it has been favorably reevaluated by critics long after its original release, the album was a commercial failure, producing no charting singles, and reaching only #112 on the Billboard pop chart and #21 on the R&B chart.
