Chandranath Temple (Bengali: চন্দ্রনাথ মন্দির or Chandronath mondir), located on top of the Chandranath Hill, is a famous Shakta pitha located near Chittagong in Bangladesh where, as per Hindu sacred texts, the right arm of Deiti Sati fell. Chandranath Temple is a pilgrimage site for Hindus.

The history of Daksha yajna and Sati's self-immolation had immense significance in shaping the ancient Sanskrit literature and influenced the culture of India. Shiva went into isolation, and wandered all around the world, until Sati reincarnated as Parvati, the daughter of the King Himavana. Like Sati, Parvati took severe austerities, gave away all her royal privileges, and went to the forest. He eventually realised Parvati is Sati herself. Shiva tested her affection and devotion in disguise.
