The earthquake of 1650 damaged the building, after which it was restored. Since 1975, it hosts a museum dedicated to the Cusco School. Church and Convent of Saint Clare C. Santa Clara Construction for the convent began in 1602 at the Qorpakancha area, concluding in 1622. On April 30 of the same year, the nuns occupied the building.
Much of its stonework was used as the foundation for the seventeenth-century Santo Domingo Convent. It was built after the 1650 earthquake destroyed the first Dominican convent.
