Grupo Formula traces its beginnings to 1968, when several Mexico City stations were split from Emilio Azcárraga Vidaurreta’s Radiópolis system. Among these was XEDF-AM 970. By 1984, Radio Fórmula operated five Mexico City stations: 970 AM, 1470 AM, 1500 AM, 103.3 FM and 104.1 FM. [1]
XERFR-AM 970/XERFR-FM 103.3 is a radio station in Mexico City.It is the flagship of Radio Fórmula's Primera Cadena. The FM transmitter site is located atop Torre Latinoamericana, its AM transmitter is located next to Zentralia Churubusco shopping centre Southeast of Mexico City.
XEYC received its first concession on February 25, 1949. It operated on 1460 kHz with 1,000 watts and was owned by and named for Ysela Fernández Caballero de Yañez. The station was known as "Radio Ysela". Fernández Caballero died on June 21, 1972. [3] XEYC was sold to XEYC, S.A., in 1980.
It has a Spanish language news/talk radio format. It mostly carries Radio Fórmula programming from Mexico City. XEKAM is a Class B station. By day, it is powered at 20,000 watts. They are the flagship stations of Radio Fórmula's "Segunda Cadena" (Second Network), simulcasting a talk radio format. By day, XEDF-AM is powered at 50,000 watts. But 1500 AM is a United States clear-channel frequency.
XHERW-FM is a radio station on 101.1 FM in León, Guanajuato. It is owned by Radio Fórmula and carries its news and talk format in conjunction with XHACN-FM 107.1.
