Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA SA The Giulia 1600 GTA-SA ("sovralimentato", English: supercharged ) (1967–1968) was a very rare racing car of which only 10 were built. It featured a 1570 cc twin-ignition engine with two oil-driven superchargers, and could produce up to 250 PS (180 kW; 250 hp) at 7,500 rpm.
In 1967 the Alfa Romeo GTA SA debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. Built by Autodelta, the 1,567 cc (1.6 L) Twin Cam engine was boosted by two superchargers driven by an engine-powered oil pump. Power was reported to be 220 bhp (223 PS; 164 kW). [8] In 1979 the Alfa Romeo GTV Turbodelta was released.

The GTA was named after the Alfa Romeo GTA from the 1960s, the letters GTA meaning Gran Turismo Alleggerita (English: lightened Grand Tourer). Developed alongside the 147 GTA , [ 20 ] it was an exclusive high-performance model hand assembled on a dedicated production line separate to the standard 156 models.

The Alfa Romeo GTA 1300 Junior (Tipo 105.59) was based on the early step-front GT 1300 Junior, incorporating the same modifications as the GTA. Its engine was not based on the standard 1300 cc motor but was instead based on the 1600cc GTA engine with the same bore but a shorter stroke (67.5 instead of 82 mm).
