    MN. I'm in MN and just got a 1 ton pickup with non-commercial Y plates. They came with an 'E' 10,000 plate. I was expecting an 'F' 12,000 plate (like my old 1 ton). My truck has a gvwr of 11,300. I will be getting a truck camper this summer. I'm guessing I'll probably be close to the 11,300 gvwr when loaded. Certainly over 10,000 lbs.

    I've seen P tire sizes in a SL (standard load) 44 psi or XL (extra load) 51 psi. The 51 psi will stiffen the sidewalls up. Might check for your size P tire. And some folks with a 1/2 ton truck and 18"/20" tires and wheels sold them and went with OEM 17" wheels so they had more options.

    The likelihood of you turning a profit let alone paying for your equipment costs are very low as a beginner. Have the company provide you with some contact information for a couple of their contract tranporters and talk to them. A 3/4 ton truck is not going to be very adequate, most transporters use 1 ton and dually.

    I replaced all six tires on my Dodge 1 ton for 116.00 per tire at Discount tire (plus 15.00 dollars per tire for roadhazard warranty) I went back to the oem General Ameritrac 10 ply. Got just under 60,000 off the first set and they were still in good shape, in fact i gave them to a friend who put them on his truck.
