Education Rules is to provide an overview and a practical resource to help parents, advocates, school personnel, and students understand the requirements of Indiana’s special education rules, found at 511 IAC 7-32 through 49, commonly known as Article 7.
Indiana’s special education law, Article 7, provides for special education and related services for students aged 3 through 22 with one or more of the 13 identified disabilities. Article 7 identifies the eligibility criteria for each of the 13 areas of disability.
