District criminal handles arraignments, pretrial hearings, hearings and trials of misdemeanor, traffic and violation offenses including violations of city and county ordinances, and felony arraignments and preliminary (probable cause) hearings. Services include: Collecting pre-payable and court ordered fines & costs.

Pre-payable citations can be paid: online- partial or in full- (at least 2 business days prior to court date) at ePay on the Court of Justice website, in full only, by phone prior to 8:15am on date of court, with a credit card (by card holder) by calling 859-292-6523;
Payment and valid proof must be provided prior to your court date to avoid attending court. Once you receive an email confirmation regarding your proof, please call our office for further payment instructions.
When the decedent’s estate is valued at less than $30,000.00, a surviving spouse, surviving children, and/or preferred creditor may ask the court to direct the transfer of estate assets without the need for further court proceedings.
Bonds may be posted at the Circuit Clerk’s office in the Justice Center from 8 am to 3:30 pm Monday-Friday. Bonds outside of those hours may be posted at the Kenton County Detention Center.
