As for the wet stuff, the bottom line is that high quality wet food costs more. That being said, Friskies wet is part of my cat's rotating menu, but I closely read the labels and I am quite picky about the flavors I buy for her. And yes, I toss in the low budget 9 Lives on occasion. When she gets 9 lives wet I add a chopped boiled egg to the ...

    thecatsite.com/threads/is-friskies-a-good-cat-wet-food-brand.291933

Friskies and Fancy Feast are two wet food brands that are actually relatively good and budget-friendly and quite a few other members feed it to their cats too. Last edited: Jan 30, 2015. Jan 30, 2015. #3.

    68. Purraise. 40. Not sure where you have heard that, from what I know Friskies is usually the cause of UTI, as it is poor quality food with by-products, and most importantly added salt. Wet food is better than dry always, so if you must go with Friskies go with wet, but I would advise against choosing this brand.

  5. Will Friskies wet food give a cat crystals? | TheCatSite

Massachusetts. I personally don’t know if Friskies will give cats crystals but I’m in the same boat as you are. I have multi cats who will only eat wet Friskies and dry Friskies…I tried the same thing, bought several different brands of better quality wet food but they refused it.

  6. Don't feed your cats Friskies cat food. | TheCatSite

    thecatsite.com/threads/dont-feed-your-cats-friskies-cat-food.284164

Location. South Dakota. Friskies is higher quality than Special Kitty. . . Anyway, sorry to hear of your troubles. Feeding a cat only dry food, or a cat not getting enough water for some other reason, can cause chronic mild dehydration, which in turn can cause kidney problems and urinary problems.

    9. Location. in my apartment. IMO Friskies is passable - by no means a "good" food but not the worst out there. What my friends who have 20-30 cats in their houses plus 30-50 alley cats that they feed do is feed a higher quality dry food (a combination of Nutro and Costco) plus Friskies wet.

  8. Something as affordable as Friskies pate, without Carrageenan?

Purraise. 2,769. Location. Northeast Georgia. Friskies has a lot of organ meat, which can cause diarrhea/runny stools. He may outgrow any issues as his gut matures, he may not. Adding a probiotic, like FortiFlora by Purina, may help too. In the meantime, if the others tolerate it, keep the pate in the mixture.

  9. Is new Friskies formula making your cat vomit? | TheCatSite

Purraise. 1. Location. Little Falls, MN. I have been feeding my two cats Friskies dry and canned as well as Fancy Feast for the last 8 years with no problem. Soon after I started feeding my male cat, Pumpkin, the new Friskies dry he began vomiting several times a day. He is a healthy cat and before he rarely vomited and only because of hair balls.

  10. Friskies vs. Fancy Feast Classic? | TheCatSite

    thecatsite.com/threads/friskies-vs-fancy-feast-classic.257666

Fancy Feast classic (only classic) is somehwat better than Friskies. Not all Purina products are equal, as you can probaby tell/smell. If you buy Friskies, get the pate; it has less gravy so less carbohydrates. Avoid fish flavored food; the smell can become addictive and because of the fish used, can lead to UTIs.

  11. Friskies wet food- Good or bad? | TheCatSite

    thecatsite.com/threads/friskies-wet-food-good-or-bad.275636

As mentioned, the Friskies Pate varieties are a decent budget-friendly canned cat food, and I feel are much better option than a dry diet. Avoid the non-pate varieties (flaked, meaty bits, fillet, gravy, etc), as they're not of the same nutritional caliber (higher in carbs and other ingredients your cat doesn't need, etc).
