A gurukula or gurukulam (Sanskrit: गुरुकुल, romanized: gurukula) is a type of education system in ancient India with śiṣya ('students' or 'disciples') living near or with the guru in the same house for a period of time where they learn and get educated by their guruji.

Shri Ram College of Commerce was ranked the Number One Commerce College in India by India Today in 2023. [13] It was also ranked as the Best College in Commerce in 2023 by Open Magazine. [14] Outlook ICARE also ranked SRCC as the Best Commerce College in India at Rank 1 in the Outlook ICare Rankings 2023. [15]
The university library was established in 2000 with a meagre collection of 279 books. At present, the library holds the collection on different streams of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and developing sciences.
The university was established by the promulgation of an 45th Ordinance of 2020 to that effect by Governor of Kerala on 25 September 2020 [1] and was inaugurated by Pinarayi Vijayan, chief minister of Kerala, on 2 October 2020 in a function held at Kollam.
As of 2023, there are approximately 1200 students enrolled in this school. There are eight school vehicles that carry students from different places. Shree Harikul also gives various school, as well as donor scholarships to more than 100 students every year. The school has 100 staff members including, teachers, drivers, and other workers.
The university is planning to offer courses on Oriental Philosophy and Mithila Art to promote the culture and civilization of the ancient Mithila. [12] [13] [14] At the early phase, the university started to offer bachelor's courses on public health and law. There are about 759+ students.
