Dunmore is a borough in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States, adjoining Scranton. It is part of Northeastern Pennsylvania and was settled in 1835 and incorporated in 1862. Extensive anthracite coal , brick, stone, and silk interests had led to a rapid increase in the population from 8,315 in 1890 to 23,086 in 1940.
Pennsylvania Route 347 (PA 347) is a 11-mile-long (18 km) state highway located in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.The southern terminus is at State Route 6011 (SR 6011) at Green Ridge Street in Dunmore.

The Dunmore and Scranton Campuses retained the upperclassmen of the original schools, and all of the freshmen attended the Dunmore Campus. For the 2008-2009 school year onward, the Scranton Campus was closed, several modular classrooms were added on to the Dunmore Campus, and Holy Cross High School was physically united.
The family bought a piece of land in Dunmore, Pennsylvania and built a factory there that opened in 1962. In addition to the factory, the building housed a full-service restaurant and a retail area. The restaurant was converted into a candy shop in 1973. In 1988, the company constructed the Gertrude Hawk Corporate Center.
Dunmore High School is located at 300 West Warren Street. According to the National Center for Education Statistics , in the 2017–2018 school year, Dunmore High School reported an enrollment of 728 pupils in grades 7 through 12.
Additionally, the 9-acre Dunmore Reservoir Number Three is situated on an unnamed tributary of the stream. [1] In the late 1970s, the Dunmore Number Three Dam was judged to be in fair condition. [10] The Dunmore Number One Dam was judged to be in good condition around that time. [11] The riparian area along Little Roaring Brook is forested.
The building was formerly used as a Dunmore School District Elementary School, called Jefferson Elementary school, but in 1982, after the elementary school closed down, the [N.E.I.U. #19] [1] began renting out the building for their own use. As of 2006, the N.E.I.U. #19 has gained full ownership of the building and is no longer renting it.
