Snoqualmie Pass is a mountain pass that carries Interstate 90 (I-90) through the Cascade Range in the U.S. state of Washington. The pass summit is at an elevation of 3,015 feet (919 m), on the county line between Kittitas County and King County .
The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), officially designated as the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail, is a long-distance hiking and equestrian trail closely aligned with the highest portion of the Cascade and Sierra Nevada mountain ranges, which lie 100 to 150 miles (160 to 240 km) east of the U.S. Pacific coast.
The Pacific Crest Trail crosses through Snoqualmie Pass, and a variety of other trails are also available for hiking and climbing in the summer [5] and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. Snoqualmie Pass is the site of the Summit at Snoqualmie, a group of alpine ski areas managed by Boyne USA Resorts.

Mason Lake is a naturally occurring mountain lake located between Mount Defiance and Bandera Mountain near Snoqualmie Pass, King County, Washington. [1] Accessible only by hike via the 3.4-mile-long (5.5 km) Mason Lake Trail (also known as "Ira Spring Memorial Trail"), [2] splits to Mount Defiance trail while continuing past the Island Lakes towards Pratt Lake trail at Olallie Lake's north shore.

The Greenway was first envisioned in 1990, when a group of citizens hiked from the Cascade Crest alongside Interstate 90. In 1991, the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust was founded to prevent the encroachment of urban sprawl on the natural areas near Snoqualmie Pass and to use them to connect Seattle and Central Washington.
