The Savannah is a breed of hybrid cat developed in the late 20th century from crossing a serval (Leptailurus serval) with a domestic cat (Felis catus). The Savannah was bred from a serval and the domestic Siamese cat. The first kitten was named, Savannah and was born in 1986. Although, the breed was not officially recognized until 2001.
