Re: Tunnel Rm 400 made to run on street well. i think your gonna find that a HEI will NOT clear the tunnel ram ...you will either have to use a stock points dist. or go to a MSD ( the pro billet is nice ) . as far as carbs , you can run 600s but you will need a little more cam or jet the 600s down ...

Steering ratio, both for the box itself, and overall ratio which allows for the increase/decrease of the long or short pitman arms and outer steering arms. I think it's the box ratio, that's what the service manual says. 69 - Camaro had a variable ratio box with two ratios: 16 to 1 on center, 12.4 1 at 14 degrees.

Clutch disc and pressure plate need replacing with a stock unit. More pedal pressure needed, faster the clutch linkage will wear out quicker, and ball studs might break off. Adjusting clutch would require lengthening the adjustment. Typical setting would be about 3/4 inch of pedal freeplay.

I think the others have already swayed the OP from buying a new car for his teen let alone a new Camaro. I rented a 2010 for a day and was still remarking at the end of the day about how large the blind spots were. I'm used to a 98 Chev PU and the Camaro is a big change in visibility. Not a car to start out in IMHO.
