After three years of production, Ian Hubert, king of the one-minute Blender tutorial, has uploaded the first episode of his sci-fi series, Dynamo Dream. And it’s been worth the wait.
Ian Hubert is an American producer, writer, director, visual effects artist, actor, artist, singer and musician. He currently resides in Port Orchard, Washington, USA, where he owns the rentable studio FutureProof Workshop.
Ian Hubert is known for Project London (2013), Prospect (2018) and Dynamo (2012).
I’m only a little familiar with Hubert’s stuff but I know that he takes one approach where he literally builds out models from the texture first, so he gets the grime “built in”. It’s a brilliant method really and has the added benefit to ensure you’re getting the scale right.
