Two weeks ago I suddenly couldn't connect to our Nano boards (CH340G) any more (I work at a vocational school). The device was tagged with a yellow triangle with exclamation mark and I found that the driver didn't load. So I went through the hassle of finding the drivers (last time even the download links didn't work).
On windows 10 I had the version 2 Beta and version 1.8.16; both worked without incident. Neither are able to see devices I plug into USB ports on Win 11. Thank you for the clarification. There have been some reports of port recognition problems that are specific to Arduino IDE 2.x, not affecting Arduino IDE 1.8.16.
