The sizes of plastic pots have been assigned an ANSI standard by the American Nursery and Landscape Association. [15] Pots designated #1–#100 nominally have the volume of that many gallons, but in fact a #1 pot has a capacity of 0.625 gallons (a "trade gallon").
× Potinara, abbreviated Pot in the horticultural trade, [1] is the nothogenus comprising those intergeneric hybrids of orchids which have Brassavola, Cattleya, Laelia and Sophronitis as parent genera. It can easily be imagined that a combination of all the desirable qualities of the four genera would be an outstandingly handsome thing.

Cypripedium acaule is commonly referred to in English as the pink lady's slipper or moccasin flower. [9] [10] [11] The specific epithet acaule means "lacking an obvious stem", [12] a reference to its short underground stem, for which reason the plant is also known as the stemless lady's-slipper. [13]
Arundina graminifolia is a terrestrial, perennial orchid with reedy stems, forming into large clumps growing to a height between 70 cm and 2 m. The plaited linear leaves are oblong lanceolate, with a length of 9 to 19 cm and a width of 0.8 to 1.5 cm. The apex is acuminate. There are amplexicaul (clasping the stem) sheathing stipules.
The pseudobulb is a storage organ found in many epiphytic and terrestrial sympodial orchids. It is derived from a thickening of the part of a stem between leaf nodes and may be composed of just one internode or several, termed heteroblastic and homoblastic respectively. All leaves and inflorescences usually arise from this structure.
