Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) [a] is the accounting standard adopted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), [1] and is the default accounting standard used by companies based in the United States.

In addition, the auditing engagement partner Mark Harvey was sanctioned and fined £100,000.
