The band broke up after the release of their third album, Red White & Blues Image, in May 1970. [1] The various members of Blues Image went on to become parts of other rock bands. Frank "Skip" Konte (born October 2, 1947) is an American keyboardist. [1] He joined The Blues Image in 1967, and stayed with them until they split in 1971. [2] Along with bandmate Mike Pinera, he wrote their one hit single, "Ride Captain Ride".
