This is a list of school districts in Ontario.. There are 76 public school boards in Ontario, including 38 public secular boards (34 English boards and 4 French boards ()), 38 public separate boards (29 English Catholic boards, 8 French Catholic boards and 1 English Protestant board), and 7 public school authorities that operate in children's treatment centres.
The District has 2,711 full-time equivalent (FTE) elementary teachers and 1,337 secondary teachers, as of 31 October 2007, with 238 principals and vice-principals. In addition to the full-time teachers, approximately 2,494 teachers are on the district's occasional teachers list.
These amounts are further broken down by the Ministry of Education, many with restrictions on their use, and others that are locally managed. Funding for the 2012–13 school year is projected to be approximately 2.4 million dollars less than 2011–12, due to the province's focus on containing costs in order to address a 16 billion dollar deficit.
