The Sony Alpha 77 II (ILCA-77M2), stylized as the Sony α77 II, is an interchangeable-lens camera aimed at the advanced amateur. It replaced the Sony Alpha 77 model in June 2014. It is similar in design to its predecessor, including the use of a SLT transparent mirror and electronic viewfinder.
The M77 was entirely retooled and reintroduced in 1991 as the Model 77 Mark II. Barrels were now hammer forged at Ruger's factory. The safety, bolt, trigger, and bottom metal were substantially redesigned as well. The claw extractor was retained, but the bolt face was opened up to turn the action into a true controlled-round feed. [8]

The Sony α77 was the flagship for Sony's midrange Alpha SLT camera line. The successor to the Sony A700 , it is equipped with a 24.3 MP APS-C HD CMOS sensor and has a 12- fps burst-shooting mode. The camera is fitted with Sony's patented “translucent mirror” technology.
