The reason the labels are cut off for some users (myself included) is that the labels are rendering in a large typewriter font at full resolution, while the generated thumbnail seems to have them in something similar to Trubuchet. We desperately need some kind of guideline for what fonts to use when labeling diagrams in Wikipedia.
