A. E. Manoharan (1944-2018) was a Jaffna Tamil baila singer highly popular in Sri Lanka during the 1970s. A star of many Sri Lankan Tamil films, his only appearance in Sinhala cinema was in Titus Thotawatte's Maruwa Samage Wase in a baila medley scene that included his hit "Suranganee".
He collaborated with him for the song "Aathichudi" [2] for the soundtrack of the film TN 07 AL 4777 (2008) [3] in 2009 which is a remake of Surangani, a song from his first independent album, Tamizha [4] Back in Sri Lanka, he did a cross-culture album [5] in 2005 which includes songs in Tamil, Sinhala and English.

He subsequently travelled to Sri Lanka and found work there as a member of the state-run Radio Ceylon's Tamil Orchestra (20 October 1952) and then with the Sundera Murugan Studio in Kandana built by producer Nayagam (1953).
