The Ghetto Kids – formerly Triplets Ghetto Kids – are a dance/music group founded in 2014 by Daouda Kavuma composed of children from the Katwe slums in Kampala, Uganda. They have appeared on major platforms across the world – featuring in French Montana 's " Unforgettable " video and performing at a World Cup 2022 event in Qatar .
During the Rising Star Awards, "Sitya Loss" song won "Song and Video of the Year 2014/2015" Courtesy of this video, The Triplets Ghetto Kids bagged The Video Trailblazer Award at the HiPipo Music Awards. Its success led to the launching of a petition to have the dancing children appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. [6] [7]
A YouTube video featuring a group of Ugandan children known as the Ghetto Kids dancing to the song went viral after it was shared on social media by record executive Sean Combs in September 2014. As of March 2022 the video has accumulated nearly 42 million views on YouTube.
A commercial dance video was made for the song. It came out on YouTube on 23 August 2021. It featured Ykee Benda dancing with The Tripplet Ghetto Kids. The dance moved were choreographed by Eddie Wizzy and the video was directed by IVASH RS from Mpaka films. [3] [4]
