Al-Fatiha (Arabic: ٱلۡفَاتِحَةِ, romanized: al-Fātiḥa, lit. 'the Opening') is the first chapter ( sura ) of the Quran . It consists of seven verses ( ayat ) which consist of a prayer for guidance and mercy.
